So for those who may not know it... this year the Gundam franchise [collectively licensed by Bandai and its subsidiaries] is celebrating its 30th Anniversary \(^o^)/ YAY go gundam!!
And to celebrate this commemorative moment, Bandai, teamed up with Green Tokyo to build a FULL SIZE SCALED GUNDAM.. yes you read it right.. FULL SIZE SCALED GUNDAM! The project started in early May in North Shiokaze Park in Japan and as of last week the final touches have been made and the gundam is complete
.
They opted to assemble the RX78 which was piloted by Amuro Rei in the first mobile suit gundam series as it was fit that the first full scale gundam be the first gundam in existence in the gundam universe. Supposedly there are movable aspects to this gundam as well as some lighting aspects. The gundam will be on free public view until the end of July when it will be dismantled and moved to a different location *sigh* if only the gundam museum was still open.
Doesn't this beg the question: If they can build a full scale gundam... doesn't that mean they can build a full scale workable gundam?
